October Goings-on

October’s here and the weather is FINALLY beginning to cool down – enjoy the temperateness while it lasts!
October is going to be a busy month in TDBC – here are some highlights of upcoming events:
- All of October is CLUB APPRECIATION month – we’ll hold special games throughout.
- Tuesday, Oct 5 will be a Charity Club Championship to benefit HOSPICE – if you’d like to bring in additional contributions, we’d be happy to pass them along.
- Club Appreciation TEAM games will be held FRIDAY, Oct 8, MONDAY NIGHT, Oct 18, and THURSDAY, Oct 28. Get a team and come play – we get to award fractions of gold points in these games!
- THURSDAY NIGHT, Oct 21, will be our Fall PRO-AM GAME. This will be the full individual movement, so you get to meet an entirely new table of people every round! We’ll have dinner beforehand and prizes afterwards, so come out and play! Sign up sheets will be available at games, or preferably, email me at theri@notrump.org and let me know if you intend to play.
- TUESDAY afternoon, Oct 26, will be our next party to celebrate our two new Life Masters – Thelma Smith and Barbara Tomlinson. Join us for an Upgraded Club Championship and goodies to help them both celebrate this milestone.
We’re also excited to announce that we’re starting up beginning bridge lessons on Wednesday nights, 7-9 PM at the Senior Center. Pamela Flory will be teaching from the Pat Harrington series. October 6 and 13 will be preliminary sessions and then lessons will start in earnest on OCTOBER 20. If you know anyone who you think might be interested, please pass along the info and have them contact me or Pam for more information and to register. There are also flyers at the Senior Center if you’d like to help us out by posting them at your work or other places you know we might reach interested people.
